Helping The Mentally Challenged Achieve Independence

ABOUT US

Temple Vitality Foundation’s mission is to bring awareness to the stigmatized subject of mental illness and provide evidence-based resources to help transition this vulnerable population to a state of independence through health living. Our organization work with individuals who, as a result of a mental illness or psychiatric mood disorder, such as bipolar or schizophrenia, have difficulties in daily functioning and require psychiatric rehabilitation. We provide resources to assist with the development of life skills and support these individuals to achieve their goals and remain stable in their community, without exhibiting impaired function and maintaining the ability to independently perform Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), such money management, grocery shopping, meal preparation, housekeeping, managing interpersonal relations, maintaining employment, and self-care.

Our goal is to enhance the ability of those challenged with mental illness to function independently and remain productive in their community with the least amount of intervention. We offer psycho-social rehabilitation programs utilizing evidenced-based interventions. These interventions are based on the principles of functional recovery, which includes the development of life skills, healthful living and eating practices, coaching, community involvement, residing in a caring environment, and providing tailored individual interventions.
